Dr. Matt Smith, principal of Centralia High School, selected Mr. Tyler Forsee, CHS physical education teacher and head football coach, as the recipient of the December 2020 Arrangement of the Month.
Mr. Scott Humphrey, assistant principal and athletic director at CHS, presented the award to Forsee, who is in his first year of teaching at CHS and most recently taught at Chester Boren Middle School.
“Mr. Forsee has been an excellent addition to the high school with his move over here to become our head football coach and weight training instructor. It is really neat seeing Mr. Forsee in this role, as he is a Centralia native and former Panther football standout,” said Smith.
Forsee, a 2003 CHS graduate, is the first former CHS football player to be named head coach of the same program. It has been a dream years in the making.
“When I was in elementary school, I always hung onto every word a coach of any kind would say to me. One of those coaches being Coach Bennett,” said Forsee. “He and Coach Enlow were two of the most influential people for me. I wanted to be like them and follow in their footsteps. So for me, this is a dream job, and I am very happy to be coaching here.”
Forsee has enjoyed the experience of working with students at both CBMS and CHS.
“Working with the students that I had when they were in middle school has been very enjoyable. I have also really enjoyed seeing the improvements that they have made throughout the year thus far,” Forsee said.
Forsee has been married to his wife Megan for 10 years. They have three children: Grayson, Paisley and Gannon. He received his bachelor’s degree in health and physical education from Culver-Stockton College and his master’s degree in athletic administration from the University of Central Missouri.
