Mrs. Lara Foster transferred to Centralia from Carrollton-Farmers Branch Independent School District in the Dallas/Fort Worth area to teach special education at Centralia Intermediate School (CIS).

Foster attended Louisiana Tech University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education. Foster and her family transferred to Centralia for her husband’s job.

There have been many, many great teacher influences in her life.

“Along with my love for teaching children, there was never any other interest for me,” said Foster. She explains that she is from Ruston, Louisiana and likes the similarities between the two communities. Foster also enjoys that, “Everyone knows everyone and prioritizes education,” said Foster.

Foster enjoys cooking, reading and playing with her dogs. She also enjoys spending time with her step sons and husband. One of Foster’s step sons is currently in law school at Tulane University in New Orleans. Her other step son works with fishing charters off the Texas coast in the Gulf of Mexico.
