Patriot Pen – “How Can I Be A Good American?”

Below are the Chester Boren Middle School grade-level winners for this year’s Patriot Pen.

Each year the Veterans of Foreign Wars select a patriotic topic for students around the nation to write about in an essay format. This year’s topic was, “How Can I Be a Good American?”. Dennis Mills and Ed Torreyson are pictured with our winners. They represent our area VFW who help to sponsor the essay competition and present the winners with a $100 prize.

Winners at each grade level are submitted to a regional competition. This year our 6th grade winner, Gabe Griffin, also won the District 2 Competition.

8th Grade Winner: Braylin Brunkhorst

7th Grade Winner: Davina Pfeiffer

6th Grade Winner: Gabe Griffin
