ECSE

Welcome!

  • Our Early Childhood Special Education program offers AM or PM preschool class for students who have qualified for early childhood special education. Both AM and PM preschool classrooms are a blended learning classroom, which means we have students who are part of our early childhood special education program and students who are not.
  • Special Education services are provided for children who qualify for assistance based on their Individual Education Program (IEP). There are many staff who provide support for our program such as early childhood special education teachers, speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, and physical therapists, to support individual needs of children.

  • Our preschool serves to provide early intervention for children ages three to five. Students do have to meet qualifications for an IEP through the process of special education. Our AM class enters 3 year-olds to school-age children who qualify for special education. Our students who are not part of special education are age 4 to school age.

  •  The purpose of a developmental program is to allow educational opportunities for children who may exhibit delays in the areas of speech/language, cognitive/pre-academic, social, or motor development. Classroom activities are based on a curriculum framework focusing on the development of literacy, math, and socialization skills. We do offer a blended program which includes students having peer models to learn from.

  •  If you are unsure or have questions regarding our program or just questions about your child’s development, then please contact the Chance Elementary office or one of our Parent Educators through Parents as Teachers.
