The Centralia R-VI School District has been awarded a grant to replace picnic tables at Chester Boren Middle School and Centralia High School for students, community members and guests to enjoy.
The "Non-Playground Scrap Tire Grant" provided $12,413 from the Department of Natural Resources to purchase twelve new picnic tables that were installed in January 2025. In addition to being made up of 100% recyclable materials, the tables have a minimum of 40% scrap tire rubber that is generated in Missouri.
